  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Property damage on Harvest Drive in Bolivia; suspect shot victim’s windows with a BB gun.

    •Property damage on River Drive in Winnabow; suspect threw eggs at victim’s vehicle.

    •Property damage on Long Beach Road in Southport; suspect broke victim’s windows.

    •Larceny on Woodlands Way in Calabash; suspect stole victim’s personal belongings.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated one report of larceny on East First Street on March 18. The suspect claims 11 silver spoons were taken from the residence. Officers also investigated a breaking and entering and property damage on East Second Street on April 2. An unknown subject entered the house and caused damage to the exterior doorframe.

  • One man wanted, one arrested for OIB breaking and enterings

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department is looking for a man who has been charged with breaking and entering and larceny.

    Warrants have been issued against Christopher Sean Evans, 22, of 599 Sabbath Home Road, Supply. Evans has been charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of larceny after breaking and entering and one count of injury to real property. Additional charges are pending upon further investigation.

    Anyone with information regarding Evans’ whereabouts can call detective Sean Morrow at 579-4221.

  • No Need 2 Speed campaign helps catch speeders

    Ocean Isle Beach Police Department participated in the No Need 2 Speed Campaign from March 28-April 3. Heightened patrol and enforcement helped officers stop speeders and other drivers in violation. Officers also conducted an evening checkpoint station in cooperation with the Sunset Beach Police Department.

  • Sheriff’s office searching for man wanted for robbery, assault

    Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect wanted for robbery and assault.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley said detectives are searching for Michael Anthony Williams, 21. Williams has been charged with two counts of assault inflicting serious bodily injury, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault on a handicapped person.

  • Two suspects arrested for multiple break-ins, firearm larcenies in Supply area

    Officers with the Brunswick County south-end task force recently arrested two suspects for multiple breaking-and-entering cases in the Supply area.

    According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley, around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, March 20, a Shallotte Police officer initiated a routine traffic investigation, which led to the recovery of multiple firearms and rifle magazines.

    Stanley said the property had been reported stolen from various residences in the Seashore Road area of Supply between Feb. 11 and March 12.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From March 20-27, K-9 deputies issued 16 citations and made nine drug arrests.

    The following suspects were charged:

    •Alexander James Stonebrook, 17, of 3548 Aycock Court, Leland, was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    •John Daniel Thompson, 42, of 347 Cape Fear Blvd., Wilmington, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit searched a residence at 641 Sandy Bluff Drive in Supply on March 24.

    During the search, drug agents seized 366 grams of marijuana, 19 Alprazolam pills, one Hydrocodone pill, eight firearms including several assault rifles and more than $1,000 in cash.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office ACE Roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.
    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Shallotte Crime Report

    The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Dedriana Bryant, 16, of 7638 Victory Drive, Longwood, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart after pushing a shopping cart with $258.52 worth of items from the business.
