Counterfeit bill passed in Sunset Beach
SUNSET BEACH—Police are investigating a report of a counterfeit bill being passed at a local store.
On Dec. 9, a man used a $100 bill to pay for items at the Minuteman store at 7300 Beach Drive.
The bill initially passed a counterfeit pen test. Several minutes later, after the man had left the store, it was indicated the bill was counterfeit, Sunset Beach Deputy Chief Steve Smith said.
