    Sunset Beach police made the following arrest on April 14:

    Jason C. Sherman, 36, 405 Viaduct St., Lonneaut, Ohio, driving while impaired.

  • Wanted: BCSO looks for Jamie Robinson

    The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect.

    Jamie Melissa Lynn Robinson, 22, is wanted by the vice-narcotics task force unit on charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance (oxycodone), conspiracy to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, selling and delivering a schedule II controlled substance and intimidating a state’s witness.

    Robinson is described as a female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She stands about 5-foot, 1-inch tall and weighs about 105 pounds.

    Property damage on Copas Road.

    April 7

    Breaking-and-entering and larceny of a leaf blower, a chainsaw, pressure washer and a weed eater on Country Club Drive.

    April 8

    Joan Antonio Cortes, 29, 1445 Pelican Road, Shallotte, larceny.

  • BCSO Crime Report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week:

    April 8

    Breaking and entering and larceny of a purse and wallet from a motor vehicle on Hickory Drive, Sandy Creek.

    Burglary with non-forced entry and larceny of two shotguns on Supply Street, Supply.

    Larceny of tools on Southport Supply Road, Southport.

    Larceny of a golf club, a backpack blower and $80 cash on Goose Creek Road, Ocean Isle Beach.

    Assault with a deadly weapon on Daws Creek, Winnabow.

  • Special Operations Report

    The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team. The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

    From April 8-14, special operations deputies arrested and charged the following suspects:

    Eric Siler, 24, Kernersville, possession of synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Ocean Isle Beach police urge citizens to report any suspicious activity

    Suspicious activity can be prevented and suspects apprehended more quickly if citizens call the Ocean Isle Beach Police Department to report such acts promptly.

    Officers recommend you call the OIBPD if someone’s actions or an incident you observe is disturbing, threatening or out of the ordinary.

    Chief John Goodwin and the OIBPD are providing these simple tips to help you report suspicious activity:

    First call 911 or 579-4221 (non-emergency number).

    •Stay calm.

    •Be specific.

    The Leland Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    April 6

    Nickole Lynn Singletary, 41, 1800 Clemmons Road Lot 2, Bolivia, misdemeanor larceny.

    Scott Elston Holth, 56, 809 Cape Harbor Drive, Southport, misdemeanor driving while impaired.

    Suspect was driving impaired on U.S. 17 South.

  • Can you identify this vehicle?

    The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office South End Task Force is asking for the public's help in identifying the owner/driver of a white truck. The subject is a person of interest in the April 11 larceny of a utility trailer from Ocean Isle Beach as well as additional larcenies in the southern end of the county. 

    Approximately five utility type trailers have been stolen in the past month from the south end of the county from Ocean Isle Beach to Calabash.

    March 25

    Corey Prather, 35, 211 Davie Drive, Wilmington, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and charged with misdemeanor larceny.

    Dog bite; Jo Anna Lynn Tysinger was bitten by a dog on North Palm Drive in Winnabow.
