  • Holden Beach crime report

    Holden Beach Police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests from April 27 until May 4:

    •Kristina Marie MacCall, 23, of 409 Cox Maddox Road, Sanford, was charged with driving while license revoked on April 25.

    •Johnny Truman Holden, 23, of 2311 Field St., Supply, was charged with driving while license revoked on April 28.

    •Brian Keith Garner, 30, of 3110 Old Ferry Road, Supply, was charged with failure to appear for a operating a vehicle with no insurance charge on April 28.

  • Men arrested in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police arrested a man April 25 in connection with an incident at Fibber McGees pub.

    Thomas Allen Gallagher, 32, was charged with delaying and obstructing justice after he got into an altercation with another man at the establishment on Queen Anne Street, deputy chief Steve Smith said.

    Damage to personal property was reported when someone returned the following morning to retrieve Gallagher’s mother’s car from the parking lot. All four tires on the vehicle had been slashed, Smith said.

  • Sheriff’s deputies searching for vehicle breaking and entering suspects

    Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the suspect or suspects involved in multiple breaking and enterings to motor vehicles in the Hood Creek Village neighborhood in Leland last weekend.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said the breaking and entering incidents took place between 10 p.m. Saturday, May 1, and 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 2.

    Stanley said the suspects are targeting vehicles that are left unsecured and appear to be looking for GPS systems, electronic devices, coins and cash.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the following suspects last week.

    After executing a search warrant at 1305 Stevenson Road Lot 5 in Supply, on April 29, drug agents charged Tamara Paulette Clemmons, of the above address was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine. Cocaine and drug paraphernalia were seized from the residence.

    As a result of an ongoing investigation into prescription fraud and prescription pill diversion, the following suspects sere arrested April 26-29.

  • Shallotte crime report

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police reports.

    •Police charged Christos Chris Politis, 50, of 154 Southshore Drive, Holden Beach, with driving while impaired and driving left of center. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

    •Police charged Daniel Keith Clinton Jr., 27, of 2022 Seashore Hills Drive, Supply, with breaking and entering an automobile and larceny; he was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

     Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on Little Lane in Calabash; suspect struck victim in the head with a baseball bat.

    •Simple assault on Walker Street in Leland; suspect hit victim in the head with a metal pipe.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.
    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police incident reports.

    •Breaking and entering and property damage on East Second Street. Suspect damaged window, screen and frame causing $340 in damage.

    •Eric Fuschino, 20, of Huntersville; charged with consuming alcohol underage on East Second Street.

    •Steven T. Balsavich, 29, of Supply; charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance on Causeway Drive.

  • Two men arrested for cocaine after search warrant

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two men after finding cocaine during a search warrant at a Winnabow home.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said drug agents arrested Michael Buck and David Jenkins after executing a search warrant Friday, April 30, at a home at 1704 Field View Trail, Winnabow.

    Drug agents seized cocaine and drug paraphernalia at the home. Stanley said community information and complaints prompted the investigation into Buck and Jenkins.

  • Leland woman arrested for assault with a deadly weapon

    A Leland woman was arrested Saturday, May 1, and was charged with stabbing a man at his Leland home.

    According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley, Tramesha Wynnett Harrison, 32, of 19 Ridge Road, Leland, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury for the allegedly stabbing a man at his Leland home.
