  • Medical aid required after man flees into ocean in Holden Beach

    A man and his relative received medical treatment following an incident in Holden Beach on Saturday night when the man ran into the ocean.

    Sometime after dark June 27, Holden Beach police responded to a disturbance call near Ocean Boulevard.

    When they arrived, a man ran out the back door of a house.

    The officers started chasing the man, who led them to the beach and jumped into the water.

    Police contacted neighboring police departments, the Coast Guard and Coastline Rescue to conduct a search.

    Miguel Marcos Angel Sepulveda, 48, of 5974 Beach Drive, Shallotte, charged with no operator’s license.

    June 10

    Larceny of cell phone reported on beach strand.

    June 13

    Larceny of iPad reported at River Creek Apartments.

    Damage to personal property attempt; razor under car tire on Great Egret Circle.

    June 10

    Brandon Lee Maines, 22, was arrested on an order for arrest on a probation violation in Rowan County.

    Property damage; someone cutting victim’s tire causing $273 in damage.

    June 11

    Credit card fraud; someone used victim’s credit card to make purchases at Murphy USA and Wal-Mart totaling $150.

    Assault on a female on Village Road.

    Two-vehicle crash at U.S. 17 North and Ocean Gate Plaza resulting in property damage.

    Two-vehicle crash in Village Road parking lot resulting in property damage.

    Financial card transaction fraud by someone who used the victim’s credit card without authorization.

    Identity theft at Ocean Gate Plaza.

    June 1

    Call for service; someone who wanted to cash an IRS check called and threatened the victim.

    June 2

    Larceny; someone pushed a shopping cart with $442 worth of products out of Wal-Mart.

    Lost or stolen wallet reported by victim who could not locate the wallet, containing items valued at $180, after leaving store.

    May 23

    Christopher Allen Roll, 31, was arrested on a felony warrant for arrest from Davidson County.

    Shayne Stephen Gransbury, 25, was arrested on charges of possession of up to ½ ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    May 25

    Larceny of a wallet containing $1,540 from a purse at Wal-Mart.
