  • Sunset Beach Police Department March 22-23

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests recently. All information is taken directly from incident and arrest reports.

    March 22

    Breaking and entering and larceny of a flat-screen TV reported from an address on East Main Street.

    March 23

    Town signs reported stolen from Marlin, Sailfish, Cobia and Dolphin streets.

    Jonathan Daniels, 31, of 7118 Dale Ave., Ocean Isle Beach, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

    March 10

    Jerry Lee Walston, 43, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of hit and run, larceny, driving while license revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    March 11

    Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle reported on Forest Drive.

    March 12

    Jaime de la Morales, 37, was arrested on four counts of misdemeanor failure to appear in court.

    Shamel Roberts was arrested on an order for arrest from New Hanover County on felony probation violation, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

    Vincent Moore was arrested on five orders for arrest on charges of failure to appear in court on traffic related charges from Brunswick County.

    Patrick Bryan Driscoll Miller, 23, of 3307 Wickslow Road, Wilmington, charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

    March 15

    Logan McBride, 31, of 902 Wyndfall Drive, Sunset Beach, charged with larceny from a home on Wyndfall Drive.

    Breaking and entering, larceny of a television and injury to real property at an address on 16th Street.

    Forgery and uttering by someone changing a prescription to a different date.

    March 4

    Barbara Lynn Casey, 53, 1818 Seaside Road SW, Sunset Beach, cited for shoplifting $118.98 in clothing from Belk.

    Breaking and entering and larceny of a backpack, which included miscellaneous items valued at $845, from a vehicle.

    Breaking and entering – non-forced entry, larceny of $500 in electronics from a Serenity Lane residence.

    Breaking and entering and larceny of a Crown Royal bag containing $60 in quarters from a motorcycle on Magnolia Drive.

    Feb. 26

    Breaking and entering, larceny of two Dell laptops, an Apple iPad and miscellaneous watches and jewelry from a dwelling on Rice Mill Circle.

  • Calabash Fire Department February 2015

    During the month of February, 2015, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 114 calls: five structure fires, four fire alarms, a vehicle fire, two motor vehicle accidents, a gas leak, an investigation, 13 public assistance calls, 85 EMS first-response calls and two other calls.
