    Jan. 3

    Terry Ray Chaney Jr., 24, 1482 Grosbeak Place SW, arrested on charges of possession of more than ½ ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Carol Jean Clark, 44, 1363 Carmel Lane SW, arrested for larceny and simple possession of Alprazolam.

  • Sunset Beach Police Report

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests.

    Natalie Dawn Rakoci, 43, of 7149 Bonaventure St. SW, Ocean Isle Beach, was charged with DWI on Jan. 14.

    Larceny of license tag reported Jan. 15 at 1690 Seaside Road.

    Tara Oneal Bellamy, 30, of 7276 Brigadier Ave., Ocean Isle Beach, was charged Jan. 18 with failure to appear.

    Assault on a female reported Jan. 8 on Live Oak Drive.

    Attempted kidnapping reported Jan. 14 on Seaside Road.

    Arrests

    Michael Jason Oxendine, 32, of 708 Live Oak Drive was charged Jan. 8 with assault on a female.

    Elizabeth Ray Hardgrove, 33, of 708 Live Oak Drive was charged Jan. 8 with simple assault.

    Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny of loose change on Sandpiper Bay Drive.

  • Leland Police report

    Leland police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    Death Investigation

    At 9:20pm on Dec. 16, detectives of the Leland Police Department responded to 1222 Maple Tree Drive in reference to a male subject who was found deceased in the apartment.

    Bryan Eric Coyan, 42, was found in his bedroom and was non-responsive at the time.

    Breaking and entering, non-forced entry, and larceny of a refrigerator valued at $2,500 from residence on Ocean Boulevard West.

    Dec. 4

    Breaking and entering, non-forced entry, and larceny of a 28 inch flat screen television and a DVD player valued at a total of $350 from residence on Burlington Street.

    Dec. 14

    Mindy Marie Sellers, 32, 35 Junction Way SE, Supply, cited for shoplifting $46.83 worth of miscellaneous items from Walmart.

  • Sunset Beach police report

    Sunset Beach police investigated a breaking-and-entering reported Dec. 10 at an address on Crooked Gulley Circle. Jewelry was reported stolen.

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests.

    Breaking-and-entering and injury to real property at Sunset Slush, 426 S. Sunset Blvd. reported Nov. 18.

    Larceny of two bicycles was reported Nov. 23 on White Heron Court.

    Larceny of one bicycle was reported Nov. 23 at a unit at 215 Clubhouse Road.

    Ryan Patrick Ridge, 26, of 687 Bullrush Court, Calabash, was charged Nov. 20 with reckless driving to endanger, injury to real property and hit-and-run.

  • Calabash fire report

    During the month of November, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 150 calls: nine structure fires, five fire alarms, five woods/brush fires, three motor vehicle accidents, eight public assistance, two other, and 118 EMS first-response calls.
