    Nov. 19

    Larceny of a motor vehicle from Grandiflora Drive.

    Larceny of equipment from a truck bed of a vehicle parked on Town Lake Drive.

    Nov. 20

    Trespassing on Olde Waterford Way after causing a disturbance.

    Traffic crash, hit and run on Village Road. Suspect hit a parked car then fled the scene.

    Nov. 15

    Anthony Michael Piotroski, 21, 130 NE 76th St., Oak Island, arrested for breaking and entering.

    Breaking and entering Coastal Horizon’s Center through a window.

    Nov. 16

    Vandalism of side mirror on truck parked at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

  • Sunset Beach police report

    The Sunset Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents.

    A Yamaha Wave Runner was reported stolen Friday, Nov. 15, from an address on Twisted Oak Lane.

    An attempted breaking-and-entering at Sandpiper Bay Clubhouse at 800 Sandpiper Bay Club Drive was reported Nov. 15. The would-be thieves did not make entry, and an audible alarm scared them away.

  • Sunset Beach Police Department

    Sunset Beach police arrested two women in a domestic disturbance.

    Amanda Sue Ellen Powell, 27, and Diane Powell, 54, both of 1151 Indigo Circle, were each charged Nov. 9 with simple assault.

    In a separate incident, Jonathan Andrew Gore, 24, of 4033 Bryan St., Little River, S.C., was charged Nov. 7 with possession of heroin, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Oct. 28

    Larceny of medication by someone who picked up someone else’s prescription at CVS.

    Vandalism of a vehicle, breaking a bug deflector and scratching both doors, parked at Walmart.

    Oct. 29

    Ezekiel David McKnight, 20, 4559 Tavia Lane SW, cited for shoplifting from Walmart.

  • Sunset Beach Police Department

    Sunset Beach police made the following arrests and investigated the following incidents.

    Suzanne K. Berryman, 51, of 406 39th St., Sunset Beach, was charged Nov. 1 with DWI.

    Joaquin Gustavo Marin, 26, of 1711 Atkinson St., Ocean Isle Beach, was charged Nov. 2 with DWI and no operator’s license.

    Breaking and entering, injury to real property and larceny reported Oct. 30 at several units at 234 Kings Trail.

    Breaking and entering and injury to real property reported Oct. 30 at 228 Kings Trail.

  • Calabash Fire Department report

    During the month of October, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 116 calls: six structure fires, two woods/brush fires, four fire alarms, three motor vehicle accidents, two gas leaks, one investigation, two mutual aid, nine public service, and 87 EMS first-response calls.

    Edward Matthew Williams, 46, 109 Potomac Court, Winnabow, arrested on disorderly conduct charge.

    Breaking and entering and larceny of property from a vehicle parked on Bradbury Court.

    Styvette Denkins McKenze, 36, 409 W. Ashe St., Burgaw, cited for stolen merchandise from Walmart.

    Oct. 22

    Lorenzo Cherla Pigott, 21, 3967 First St. SW, arrested on outstanding warrants for felony conspiracy and larceny from a person charges.

    Larceny by an employee at Subway in the Shallotte Crossing Parkway.

    Oct. 23

    Lost purse left in restaurant in the Shallotte Crossing Parkway.

  • Candidate signs reported stolen in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH — A candidate for Sunset Beach Town Council says 100 of her campaign signs have been stolen.

    Sunset Beach Town Councilwoman Carol Scott, who is seeking re-election in the Nov. 5 council race, filed a report Saturday, Oct. 19, with the Sunset Beach Police Department.

    A police report states the signs were stolen from the roadside “all over town.”

    Sunset Beach Police Detective Joe Smith said someone reported to Scott that a white truck was possibly involved. An investigation is ongoing and there are no suspects.
