    Financial transaction card fraud, Food Lion, Sunset Beach.

     

    March 23

    Charles Doyd Melvin III, 34, of 288 Cable Lake Circle, Carolina Shores, charged with DWI and simple possession of marijuana.

     

    March 24

    Lance Allen Boone, 42, of 2034 Waterloo St., Ocean Isle Beach, charged with failure to appear.

    Randolph Scott Fletcher, 37, 814 Ricefield Branch Road, arrested on charges of burning personal property, injury to real property, misdemeanor child abuse and injury to personal property by destroying property inside and outside of a residence on Terrace Walk.

    Obtaining property by false pretense and worthless check. Someone bought items at Wicker and More on Ocean Highway with a check from a closed account.

    Larceny and obtaining property by false pretense by someone taking items from a residence on Wildwood Street and pawning them.

    Pamela Brown Hankins, 49, 121 Asheton Road, Wilmington, cited for shoplifting from Walmart.

    Joel William Prentice Jr., 31, 119 NE 77th St., Oak Island, arrested on charges of driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and open container.

    Obtaining property by false pretenses by taking items from the shelves and returning them for money.

    Danielle Brook Shannon, 18, 1232 Maple Tree Drive, Leland, cited and released for stolen merchandise from Walmart on New Pointe Boulevard.

    Breaking and entering and larceny by someone breaking into a residence on Oak Lane and stealing property.

    Breaking and entering, larceny of televisions, injury to real property reported at 425 Fourth St.

     

    March 16

    Roger Dale King Jr., 30, of 4377 Mary St. SW, Shallotte, charged with reckless driving.

    Feb. 28

    Melissa Renee Meyer, 34, 153 S. Navassa Road, arrested for driving while impaired, fictitious registration and an outstanding warrant from New Hanover County on a misdemeanor child abuse charge.

    Traffic crash/hit and run on Village Road after an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle, causing property damage.

    Jamie Tyrone McCracken, 35, 3786 Strawberry Drive SW, cited for shoplifting items valued at $93.68 from Walmart.

    Feb. 28

    Gloria O’Brian Gonzales, 54, 5103 Angler Lane, Greensboro, arrested on a charge of shoplifting items from Walmart.

    March 6

    Johnathan Blake Ferster, 21, charged on outstanding warrant from New Hanover County for obtaining property by false pretense.

    Cody Austin Kohler, 22, charged on outstanding warrant from New Hanover County on a charge of obtaining property by false pretense.

  • Calabash Fire Department

    During the month of February, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 161 calls: six structure fires, three woods/brush fires, five fire alarms, two motor vehicle accidents, a rescue, a gas leak, 31 public assistance calls, four other, and 108 EMS first-response calls.
