    Jennifer Pridgen Miller, 40, 201 North Carolina Ave., Wilmington, cited and released for stealing merchandise from Walmart on New Pointe Boulevard.

    Breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, larceny of sunglasses and iPod, on Elderberry Lane.

    April 15

    Christopher Daniel Bailey, 27, who has no permanent address, charged with two counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.

    Injury to real property reported on Dogwood Drive.

    Michael Anthony Leal, 33, 9387 Night Harbor Drive, arrested on a charge of driving while impaired on U.S. 17.

    Kyle Mitchell Prince, 25, 146 Wild Raven St., Shallotte, arrested on charges of driving while impaired and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

    Billy Lee Morris Jr., 51, 1164 Woodview Circle, Ocean Isle Beach, cited for possession of a stolen registration plate.

    Joseph Earl Hill, 60, of 1046 Hale Swamp Road, charged with second-degree trespassing.

  • 'Threats' reported to Sunset Beach police

    A Sunset Beach woman says she felt threatened when a local developer confronted her following a recent town planning board meeting.

    Jan Harris reported the incident to police after developer Sammy Varnam spoke to her in the town workshop room following the meeting April 3.

    “He told me if I did not stop writing lies about him, he was going to make me sorry,” Harris told the Beacon. “He kept on and on.”
