  • Shallotte Crime Report

     

    The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Jonathan Cortes Molina, 27, of 1993 Deer Vista St. SW, Supply, was arrested on three counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of misdemeanor larceny after breaking and entering and six counts of felony probation violation.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Assault on a female, resist arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia on West First Street; police responded to a domestic violence call.

    •Kevin Cordevant, 33, of 1011 John Godfrey Road, Sanford, was arrested for assault on a female, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Burglary and vandalism on Highfield Court in Shallotte; suspect damaged victim’s door.

    •Burglary, larceny and vandalism on Blackwell Road in Leland; suspect pried open victim’s office door and stole a tool set, seven-piece wrench set, impact sockets, air ratchet, an electric impact air gun and a torque socket set.

  • Break-ins, DWIs reported in Sunset Beach

    Town police investigated seven incidents of breaking-and-entering reported along Main Street on the Sunset Beach island in the past week.

    Police also charged two men with driving while intoxicated in separate incidents.

    Reported break-ins include:

    •A CD player, a 26-inch Sanyo flatscreen TV and a 19-inch Dynex flatscreen TV were reported stolen in Nov. 15 incidents involving three separate addresses on East Main Street.

  • Shallotte Crime Report

     

    The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Angela Marie Hewett, 43, of 631 Westwynd Drive, Supply, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to cultivate and stealing from Walmart.

    •Communicate threats and disturbance at Confederate Rose; suspect caused a disturbance.

  • Incidents investigated in Sunset Beach

    An Ocean Isle Beach man was arrested during a traffic stop Sunday in Sunset Beach.

    Alberto Gallegos, 29, of 6764 Beach Drive, was wanted on failure-to-appear and simple assault warrants, according to detective Joe Smith.

    Sunset Beach police also investigated a theft of a television reported Sunday at a unit on Resort Circle at The Colony II.

  • Leland man sentenced to federal prison

    A Leland man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for weapons and drug charges.

    Brunswick County assistant district attorney Chris Thomas said Bradley Maurice James of Leland was sentenced to 10 years and three months in federal prison in U.S. District Court in Wilmington on Nov. 10.

    During a Brunswick County jury trial February 2010, James was convicted of possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and possession with intent to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana, Thomas said.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Burglary and larceny on North Ridge Drive in Supply; suspect entered victim’s home through a window and stole property, including jewelry, computer, flat-screen TV, iPod and digital camera.

    •Larceny and property damage on Stanley Road in Supply; suspect stole items and damaged victim’s property.

  • Two arrested for Ocean Isle Beach area break-ins

    Two suspects were recently arrested for a string of residential breaking and entering incidents reported in the Ocean Isle Beach area.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Del Routh said Sheriff John Ingram “has been putting a lot of emphasis on breaking and enterings in the county.”

  • B&E, larceny investigated in Sunset Beach

    The Sunset Beach Police Department is investigating a breaking-and-entering and larceny reported Nov. 5 on Live Oak Drive.

    Items reported stolen in the incident include a self-propelled push lawn mower, a tool box with tools, a socket set and an electric pressure washer.
