  • Detectives arrest Supply man for breaking and entering, larceny

    Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect around 12:30 p.m. Monday, shortly after they say he broke into a Supply residence.

    According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley, Tony Lee Johnson entered a home on Little Macedonia Road around 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from incident reports and information provided by the police department.

    •Shawna Shirlene Jackson, 32, of Ocean Isle Beach; outstanding warrant for failure to appear. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where she was placed on a $500 secured bond.

  • Shallotte Police add additional charges in South Carolina prescription fraud ring

    Shallotte Police have added additional charges to suspects charged in connection with a South Carolina prescription fraud ring.

    Shallotte Police Detective Ed Marti said Shallotte police have added additional felony charges to three suspects arrested last month as part of a prescription pill diversion investigation.

  • Man arrested in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police arrested a man Friday after a rider was seen traveling on a moped with no helmet.

    Hector H. Montalbo, 20, was charged with resisting and obstructing a public officer.

    According to a police report, an officer followed a man on a moped leaving the Minute Man store down Beach Drive. The officer turned on his blue lights and siren.

    The man on the moped rode down to a house on Newton Street where, according to the report, he tried to “jump and run inside.”

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Nov. 8-14, K-9 deputies answered 14 calls, wrote six citations and made six drug arrests. Deputies patrolled the following communities: Rivermist, Dutchman Acres, Southport and Carolina Shores.

  • Three arrested in connection with Shallotte armed robbery

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives arrested three local suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Shallotte on Nov. 6.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said two suspects entered a home on Shell Point Road in Shallotte around 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.
    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on Chadwick Landing in Shallotte; suspect stabbed victim in victim’s left side.

    •Property damage on Moor View Road SW in Supply; suspect spray-painted victim’s vehicle.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Pearl Way NE in Supply; suspect stole a subwoofer and an amp from victim’s vehicle.

  • Drug agents execute search warrants, make multiple arrests

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 3327 Stone Chimney Road in Supply last week, which led to the seizure of prescription medication as well as drug paraphernalia.

    According to sheriff’s office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley, two suspects were arrested in connection with the Stone Chimney Road search warrant. Drug agents seized Suboxone, a controlled prescription medication, as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia from the home.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 871 Mill Creek Road in Bolivia on Nov. 4, after receiving community complaints that heavy drug traffic was occurring at the home.

    Agents investigated the residence for about two months before ending the investigation with the search warrant and arrest of Michael Rethanial Davis, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley.
