The National Weather Service's tornado warning for Brunswick County has expired. Central portions of Brunswick County were under a tornado warning until 12:15 p.m.
The National Weather Service's Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Longwood, about 11 miles northeast of Little River, S.C., just before noon. The storm cell was moving east at about 35 mph and was expected to reach the Shallotte area by noon.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday for Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties.
