RALEIGH—A bill pending in the North Carolina General Assembly would allow counties to consolidate their human services boards, such as health and social services, to one board.
Senate Bill 433, the local human services administration bill, was introduced March 29 by state Sen. Fletcher Hartsell Jr., R-Concord.
The bill would allow for the consolidation of counties’ boards of health, social services, mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse into one human services board.
