All active members of the Merry Gold Gardeners Junior Master Gardener 4-H Club discovered they have “green thumbs” this year as they received the Junior Master Gardener Golden Ray Series Certification for Herbs and Vegetables. The Golden Ray Series is recognition offered to youth that complete a small part of the Level One JMG program.
This spring, Brunswick County’s Cooperative Extension office has received numerous samples of oak leaves infected with oak leaf blister, a fungal leaf spot in the Taphrina genus. The disease is common on all oak species.
