CAROLINA SHORES—Town commissioners have approved a balanced $1,422,798 budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 with no tax increase.
Approval came following a June 2 budget hearing.
The town tax rate remains the same at 8 cents per $100 valuation.
“The bottom line is it didn’t change,” town clerk Lisa Anglin said following the board of commissioners’ monthly meeting.
The budget is down slightly, about 4 percent less than the current fiscal budget of $1,475,844 adopted last year.
The new budget year takes effect July 1.
