One of the keys to Brunswick winning the state championship was the effort of its pitchers, and Carson Tew in particular.
Kevin Harris started the loser-out game July 22, against Dallas, and Carson Tew, scheduled to pitch in relief, started at third.
But those plans fell apart.
“My ribs were hurting me when I was throwing from third base,” Tew said. “I didn’t know what to do, so I sat out.”
