Caw Caw Drainage District cleared in areas plagued by flooding

Brunswick County officials announced a new maintenance program for the Caw Caw Drainage District has completed clearing areas near Carolina Shores that flooded the past two years.

The Caw Caw Drainage District was initially created in 1953 to establish levees, drains, canals and ditches or other waterways to drain swampland or handle water overflows onto land used for agricultural purposes.
