To the editor:
This is in response to the letter writer who was “offended” by Sunset Beach Town Administrator Gary Parker’s comments about Mayor Rich Cerrato.
I do not know Gary or the mayor personally but have attended Sunset Beach town council meetings and have observed both individuals.
Gary has always presented himself as an articulate, knowledgeable professional. I cannot say the same for the mayor who does not follow protocol, does not listen and is antagonistic toward Gary and council members.

To the editor:
Taxes have always been a popular subject, and frequently the object of criticism, no more so than here in Sunset Beach, and often as a result of misinformation.
Shortly after I began work as town administrator, I proposed the tax rate be reduced by 2 cents, which it was.
Since then, there has been no increase in taxes (last year’s proposed rate was less revenue neutral). So, since 2007, town taxes have been reduced.

To the editor:
Do we, the citizens of this nation, have the right to abolish our country’s government? The answer is we most certainly do.
This right to overthrow our country’s government is defined and guaranteed in our country’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
It is the right derived from our nature as free human beings endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

To the editor:
We are blessed and have so many people in Brunswick County who have a heart to help people and never get recognition, mainly by their own choosing.
I read with interest about local dentist Dr. John Madison, who reached out to pay-it-forward and help Joyce Davis, a cancer patient with a painful dental problem. He took away the pain without thought of monetary consideration.
