Masey is a 6-year-old German shepherd mix awaiting a brand new home at Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue (SOAR). Her former owners took great care of her but had to give her up due to financial problems. She had lived with them since she was a puppy. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She is good with other dogs and cats. She is house-trained and loves to play. Find out more about Masey and all the other cats and dogs available for adoption at SOAR, a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue shelter. It accommodates homeless, lost, abandoned, and injured dogs and cats. SOAR provides food, shelter, medical treatment, and daily care for its animals. SOAR is open to the public from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays and is always in need of volunteers. To get there, from the intersection of N.C. 211 and 133 head toward Oak Island for 1.5 miles. Turn right on Airport Road and go another 1.5 miles, then take a left to St. Charles Place. SOAR is on the right. For more information, call SOAR at (910) 457-6340 or log onto http://www.soar-nc.org.
