The three county varsity high school baseball teams, along with the West Brunswick junior varsity, will once against play in the Touchstone Energy Beach Diamond Invitational April 25-27 at West Brunswick High School.
West Brunswick will be the only county softball team playing in the four-team softball tourney.
The daily pass costs $5. The tournament pass, available the first day of the tourney, costs $12. WBHS season passes are not good for this tourney. Spectators may enter only from the front gate.
Ocean City Chevrolet is supporting the Shallotte community through a partnership with Shallotte Dixie Youth Baseball League and, for the first time, the Lockwood Folly Baseball League.

The Special Olympics cheerleading team, the Brunswick Shakers, took home the silver medal in a recent cheerleading tournament. The SONC Cheerleading Tournament was March 12 at Butler High School in Charlotte. The girls were led by head coach Cindy Neely with the help of two assistant coaches, Lindsey Smith and Devan McLachlen, and competed against eight teams.
Inspirations Dance Centre of Southport participated in Star Talent Productions Dance Competition March 12-13 in Supply.
Inspirations Dance Centre dancers were awarded platinum and ratings for eight group dances, five duets and 15 solos. The dancers earned the opportunity to compete at Nationals in July. IDC’s senior company earned a platinum rating and first overall senior small group for its contemporary dance and a rating for its jazz dance.
MEN’S BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Registration is open for men 21 or older interested in playing in a basketball league at Brunswick Community College.
The cost is $300 per team and games will be played on Mondays and/or Wednesdays beginning April 4.
