 Joel Lovette and Debbie and Artie Duncan show off two of the 10 flounder they caught while fishing with Capt. Buster Gillis of Buster’s Outdoors Guide Service.  They were fishing using artificial bait in the Intracostal Waterway and in creeks and canals near the Ocean Isle Wildlife area.

 Often times, people overlook the dangers involved with watersports activities. Whether it’s fishing, wakeboarding, jet skiing or hunting, unfortunate events do occur on the water and without proper education and experience, an incredibly fun day on the water can turn to a disaster within minutes. Unfortunately, this past week I experienced this good to bad transition first hand while working at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center (OIFC). 

 Jeff Cecil and Mike Craven from the Charlotte area show three keeper flounder they caught while fishing with Capt. Buster Gillis of Buster’s Outdoors Guide Service. These keeper flounder were all in the 18- to 20-inch size range. They caught 16 flounder while fishing the Intracoastal Waterway, canals and channels in the Ocean Isle Beach area and using artificial bait.
