Johnny Calhoun has had some memorable golfing moments—a 65 in competition and a hole-in-one—but a recent round of golf ranked just as high.
Calhoun, a 67-year-old resident of Sunset Beach, shot a 67 June 24 at the Ocean Ridge Plantation Tiger’s Eye Course.
“I missed one green all day,” he said about the round of five birdies and no bogeys.
Calhoun expects to play well. He plays to a 3-handicap, and he has shot under-par rounds of golf. The 65 he shot came was in an event about 20 years ago in Nichols, S.C., he said.
