Beachcombers
The Beachcombers played a three nets tournament Friday at Cypress Bay. The winners at 190 (-26) were Jim Beairsto, Jim Ritter and Gary Gutheil and a player by draw (Sid Silver). In second at 196 (-20) were Dan O’Connell, Bob Healey, Ed Redman and a player by draw (Sid Silver). Gross: Sid Silver, 80; Gary Gutheil, 81; Bob Healey and Ed Redman, 88. Net: Ed Redman and Sid Silver, 66; Gary Gutheil, 67. Sid Silver is golfer of the week.

On Sept 3, the third annual Crow Creek charity golf tournament benefiting Communities in Schools of Brunswick County was hosted by the Crow Creek women’s and men’s golf associations.
The event raised $12,000 for CIS, whose primary goal is to provide the services Brunswick County needs to keep kids in school and prepare them for better lives. The success of this event was a direct result of the generosity of many businesses that sponsored golf holes and donated more than 100 prizes for our auctions and raffle.

The Brunswick Novant Medical Center Foundation was host of its first golf tournament Oct. 12 at Lockwood Folly Country Club. All proceeds from the golf tournament will support the BNMC Foundation’s Women and Children’s Wellness Outreach Initiative.
First, from Davis Delivery Service, were Greg Davis, Tom Jones, Dan Adkins and Sam Walker with a score of 60 in the captain’s choice tournament. Second, from Wilmington Health, were Scott Colquhoun, Jay Bennett, Brian Webster and Matt Dzunk.Third were Jack Braak, John Cefelli, Jeff Duncan and Dave Poeppelmeier.
