Jan. 16, Thistle Golf, $45, 9 a.m. sign-in, 10 a.m. start. Price includes cart fee, greens fee, cart attendants, refreshments and prizes.  
Feb. 20, Cape Fear National Golf, $45, 8:30 a.m. sign-in, 9:30 start. Price includes cart fee, greens fee, refreshments and prizes. Cart attendant’s tip is not included in price.

It’s a whole new year with endless possibilities, so let’s talk about fitness and how a dog can improve your game.
In most of our golf communities, dogs must be walked on a leash. Walking your dog several times a day is a good thing.
The Mayo Clinic tells us that walking is a gentle, low-impact exercise that can ease you into a higher level of fitness and health. It can lower bad (LDL) cholesterol, raise good (HDL) cholesterol, lower blood pressure, reduce or manage type 2 diabetes, manage weight, improve your mood and help you to stay strong and fit.

During its annual campaign earlier this year, the Ocean Ridge Men’s Golf Association raised $5,745 for The First Tee Brunswick County. This is the sixth consecutive year ORMGA has conducted this campaign, raising more than $35,000 for TFTBC.
