Coach Joe Stanley is a man who has taught me many things about both life and basketball.  I first met Coach Joe in 2009 at a board meeting of The First Tee, when my brother Holden and I spoke.  Coach Joe would become my travel AAU basketball coach in 2010.  I was in for much character improvement, both on and off the court. Coach Joe taught his team respect for others as well as for our surroundings.

Lockwood Folly Country Club is the only member-owned course in Brunswick County.  In 1996, the developers of Lockwood Folly (Channelside Corp.) approached the members to see whether they wanted to purchase the course. Most of the lots had been sold and before they opened it up to outsiders, perhaps the members wanted to get together and buy it.
