  • Buying new clubs: A great...

Two months ago, I went out and bought myself a Christmas (birthday, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and anniversary) present: new clubs.
In this column I often stress the importance of lessons, of regular practice and using clubs that have been fitted to you personally.
During the golf season, I take lessons and I practice. I enjoy pounding my driver and hitting wedges to a practice green. I like throwing balls into a bunker to see if I can get them all out without a single “leavey.” Putting to targets on a large practice green is fun.

  • Senior golf program continues in...

Dates and courses have been set for the 55+ Senior Golf Program. Golfers play once a month at different golf course throughout Brunswick County for a reasonable fee and a chance to win prizes.
Golfers can pick and choose which months they want to play.
Of note, the Gator Games qualifier is April 26 at Brierwood Golf Club. This is for Brunswick Gator Senior Games participants only.
