  • Walk your way to better scores

I love this time of year. We can discard the old ways, make new resolutions, begin all over again and do what we really want to do. We can create a healthier lifestyle.

So, let’s begin by walking. Walk the dog, walk the neighborhood, walk the mall. Best of all, walk the golf course.

Walking regularly is a terrific way to become healthier and happier in the New Year. The American Heart Association tells us that walking:

  • OIFC encounters the Gulf Coast

With Christmas quickly approaching, most folks either have their head wrapped around family gatherings or wrapping presents for the family gatherings. Whether it’s fishing for trout in the skinny backwaters or calling in a drake mallard from your duck blind, the week of Christmas is the perfect time to teach and perform these activities with your family members.

  • Baby, it’s cold outside

Many of us who live in Brunswick County are from the north. We’re from New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, New England, even Minnesota.

Years ago, Gene and I came down on a family vacation and we fell in love with the beaches, the golf, the fishing, restaurants —  and the weather.

Historically, the average temperature in this area in January is a high of 55 and a low of 34. Chicago, on the other hand, has an average daily temperature of 31 (January) and New York has an average daily temperature of 39 for the same month.
