The West Brunswick boys’ golf team fell eight strokes short of qualifying for the state tournament next week at Whispering Pines Country Club.
In the NCHSAA 3A Regional Monday at Reedy Creek Golf Course, the Trojans shot a 340 and finished tied for fifth among 11 teams.
The top three finishers from the regional qualified for state: C.B. Aycock, Corinth Holders and West Craven. Each team shot a 332.
No one from West qualified individually. Tucker Vaughan shot an 80 and tied for 11th. He missed qualifying for state by two strokes.
