Andrews no-hits USC Lancaster for six innings as BCC wins

 Zachary Andrews threw a no-hitter for six innings and Matt Lowry pitched three innings of relief as the Brunswick Community College baseball team beat USC Lancaster 4-1 in a non-region game Saturday afternoon at Founders Field.


Andrews walked one batter, hit two batters and struck out one. Lowry gave up one run and two hits. He walked three and struck out four.

BCC (3-1) scored three runs in the sixth inning. Hunter Allen led off with a single and went to second on an error. Johnathan Corbett singled him home. With one out, Bryson Benton tripled to right field, scoring Corbett. Benton scored on a groundout by Alex Sasser.

Corbett singled home BCC’s other run with two outs in the seventh, scoring Ryan Hill, who had doubled.

Corbett finished 2-for-4 as BCC finished with seven hits. Damon Hoggard also doubled.

Starting outfielder Michael Deese was injured when a pitch hit his right knee in the fifth inning. He had to leave the game.
