A South Carolina man has been arrested for an armed bank robbery in Supply last week.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said sheriff’s deputies arrested Rodney Lee Adelstone II for an armed robbery at Waccamaw Bank last week.

Stanley said Adelstone, 22, of 709 48th Ave., North Myrtle Beach, S.C., entered the bank at 3178 Holden Beach Road just before 12:45 p.m. Thursday, June 9, handed a note to the teller stating he had a gun and demanding she give him “all the money.”

The teller complied with his request, and Adelstone allegedly fled the bank on foot.

Sheriff’s officials released surveillance photos to the media last week, and Stanley said through local tips, detectives were able to arrest Adelstone.

On Sunday, Adelstone was charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Then on Monday, Stanley announced Adelstone was charged in connection with a second local armed robbery.

Stanley said Adelstone has also been charged in connection with an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy on Beach Drive in Sunset Beach on May 26.

Adelstone allegedly entered the CVS around 2 p.m. May 26, and demanded prescription pills from the pharmacy, then exited the store with more than $10,000 worth of prescription medication.

Adelstone has been charged with an additional count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He remains in custody at the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
