A North Carolina state trooper who shot and killed Brandon Webster on Jan. 1 will not be charged, state attorney general Josh Stein wrote in a news release issued Friday, April 12.
Trooper Scott A. Collins, who was assigned to Troop B, District 6, in Brunswick County at the time of the shooting, will not be charged because “the evidence showed that Trooper Collins acted reasonably in the face of a deadly threat,” according to the release.
