The Brunswick Community College women’s basketball team’s losing streak reached nine in a row this past week as it dropped three Carolinas Junior College Conference road games.

At week’s end, the Lady Dolphins were winless in league play (0-16) and 2-17 overall with their last win coming Dec. 13 against the Mount Olive College JV.

Louisburg College placed six in double figures in an 86-48 victory Tuesday. Jessica Nelms led the way for the Lady Hurricanes with 14 points. Niesha Searles and Dorothy Corbett each had 13, Aminah Davis 11 and Jasmine Whitby and Janelle Harrison 10 each.

Chrissy Campbell led BCC with 13 points with Temere Williams and Robin Smith getting 12 and Tiara Brodie 11.

Campbell scored 19 Saturday in a 64-62 loss to Clinton Junior College at Rock Hill, S.C.

“It was probably one of our better games this season,” coach Kenneth White said.

Danielle Russell, a sophomore from Ashley High in Wilmington, led Clinton with 20 points.

Campbell also reached double figures in Sunday’s 88-43 loss at Spartanburg Methodist before suffering a knee injury with four minutes to play. She finished with 12 points. Williams led the Lady Dolphins with 14.

“We finished with four players on the court,” White said. “Chrissy went down with four minutes left and Jasmine (Monroe) fouled out with three minutes. But we never gave up.”

White was awaiting word on Campbell’s status for this weekend.

Chaecie Bullock had 29 points for Spartanburg Methodist with India Belton getting 20.

The Lady Dolphins take their last road trip of the season this weekend, stepping out of conference to play the Patterson School at Lenoir Friday at 6 p.m. and Caldwell Community College on Saturday at Hudson.

They return to wrap up the season with home games against Denmark Technical College on Feb. 17 and Lenoir Community College on Feb. 20.
