CAROLINA SHORES—Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two male suspects who were involved in an armed robbery near Carolina Shores late Sunday evening.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson deputy Del Routh said two suspects entered the Food Lion on U.S. 17 near Carolina Shores around 10:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.

Routh said the suspects concealed their identities with masks, and forced employees to hand over an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the business.

Both suspects are described to be between 5-feet-9-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall and weigh 150 to 180 pounds.

The first suspect was wearing all black. The second suspect wore a blue sweatshirt and beige tennis shoes. Both suspects wore Halloween masks, Routh said.

This is the second armed robbery at Food Lion in as many weeks.

Around 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, two armed suspects entered the shore and forced a store employee to open a safe, taking an undetermined amount of money.

Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram has asked anyone with information about the robberies or the investigation to contact detective Mark Jarman at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at 253-2777.
