The diversity and versatility of sedums

-A A +A
By Susan Brown, County Extension

Ever since I was introduced to the gardening world, I have always been fascinated with the diversity and versatility of sedums.

I think the most appealing characteristic is the plants natural ability to want to propagate itself. If you have ever had the pleasure of owning a sedum, I am sure you have observed the plants ability to drape over pots and drop babies down to the ground. They are extremely easy to propagate. You can take a cutting of a plant and create a new one by planting it into a soil medium. In a few weeks, it will root.
