Garden tour offers views of coastal plantings

-A A +A

The Coastal Garden Club of Shallotte will host its annual tour and tea on Saturday, April 28. Gardens in the Seascape and Lockwood Folly plantations will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The tea will take place from noon-3 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
Beyond the garden gates, enjoy a garden with the charm of Southern living and Charleston influence of gaslights, statues and more. Several gardens offer views of the Intracoastal Waterway, one using a plant palette that thrives in the windswept coastal environment. Another garden features tropical plants, a water garden and unique statuary. In the front garden, don’t miss the cactus that transported from Arizona more than 30 years ago. Also on the tour are a woodland shade and a community garden.
Proceeds from the tour and tea help support civic beautification projects and the Horticultural Department at Brunswick Community College.
Tickets for the tour and tea are $15 and are available on the day of the tour at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, 494 Mt. Pisgah Road SW in Supply.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Windowz, Inc., 108 Seaside Road (N.C. 9040 in Sunset Beach.
