Lightning: A real hazard on the course

-A A +A
By Elsa Bonstein, Golf Gab

We are in the middle of long hot summer with the usual afternoon and evening thunderstorms. These events of nature are both scary and beautiful. There’s nothing like watching a storm at sea from the safety of a condo or house. The distant flashes and jagged streaks of lightning set against dark clouds and rolling waves are beautiful. Add rays of sunlight and pure white thunderheads, the pink and purple of a sunset, and that storm is awesome.

But that same thunderstorm can be deadly, and for those of us who play golf, it can be a life-threatening hazard.
