Boys' basketball coach Ty Johnson announces new West Brunswick youth league

By Sam Hickman

SHALLOTTE – When Ty Johnson was hired as the new boys’ basketball coach at West Brunswick High School, he already had an idea to build a youth feeder program.

He transformed the idea into a reality recently with the announcement of a West Brunswick Youth Basketball League that will hold its inaugural season beginning in November.

The league will be made up of boys in fifth through eighth grades, but registration is limited to the first 100 boys who sign up.

Registration ends Oct. 23, Johnson said.
