No one injured in Holden Beach, Southport fires

No one was injured in two separate fires in Holden Beach and Southport reported after the start of the new year.

The cause of the fire that destroyed one house and damaged at least one other house about 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Charlotte Streetin Holden Beach remains under investigation, Fire Marshal Scott Garner said.

Personnel from Coastline Volunteer Rescue Squad, Tri-Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Supply Volunteer Fire Department, Civietown Fire Rescue, Shallotte Fire Department and Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department responded.
