Olympic golf—After a hiatus of 112 years, it’s about time

In 2016, golf will become an Olympic sport once more after a hiatus of 112 years. The last time golf was included in the Summer Olympics was in 1904 and the only competing teams were from the United States and Canada. It was men only that year and the event featured individual and team play.
Golf was an Olympic sport only once before 1904, when teams from France, Great Britain, Greece and the United States competed in the 1900 games. There were 10 women and 12 men in Olympic golf in the inaugural event. No wonder it died as an international sport.
