One suspect arrested, one wanted in Carolina Shores armed robbery

One suspect has been arrested and a second suspect remains is wanted for their roles in an armed robbery last month.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said sheriff’s detectives have arrested one suspect in the May 15 armed robbery of Christopher’s Pizza in Carolina shores.

Stanley said on May 15, a suspect entered the pizza shop and demanded money from the employee at the register, but left the business without any money before law enforcement officers arrived.

Following up on leads and tips from the community, detectives have arrested Avery Demond Green, 20, of 237 Union Lane, Shallotte, who was an employee at the time of the robbery.

Green was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a female. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where he was placed under a $100,000 bond.

A second suspect, Tysean Pigott, remains at large.

Pigott, 20, of 289 McMilly Road, Shallotte, has been charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault by pointing a gun.
