SHALLOTTE — Shallotte has received a $250,000 Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) grant for its riverwalk project, Mayor Walt Eccard told town aldermen at their Sept. 5 meeting.

At last month’s meeting, the board indicated it wanted to begin moving forward on the project by the first of the year because the town will cover the cost of the riverwalk.

An added incentive for businesses to consider becoming part of the Shallotte riverfront may be the recent installation of FOCUS fiber optic communications by ATMC.
