-A A +A
By Rachel Johnson, Staff Writer

Joseph Anthony Steinbach III was 18 years and 18 days old when he died.

Joey, as his family called him, bravely battled testicular cancer. Born on June 25, 1985, he died on July 3, 2003. He was a senior at West Brunswick High School and lived in Holden Beach with his family.

His family will never forget the love he brought to their life and want to spread awareness about the cancer that stole him away.

“Joey was a super hero on earth,” said Mary Steinbach, his mother.

At age 15, Joey’s life and his family’s changed forever.
