A Supply woman has been arrested for striking her boyfriend with her vehicle, killing him.

According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Del Routh, sheriff’s deputies responded to a home at 1913 Oxpen Road in Supply around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, May 27. When deputies arrived at the home, they found Michael Anthony Pate, 52, underneath a vehicle.

Routh said Pate was pronounced dead on the scene. Routh said deputies also saw Julie Ann English, 48, at the scene. English, who lives at the home at 1913 Oxpen Road, is believed to have been in a relationship with Pate.

Routh said deputies believe Pate and English were involved in a domestic dispute earlier that evening. English was taken to Brunswick Novant Medical Center, where she was treated for a facial laceration before being released to the custody of detectives.

Detectives charged English with voluntary manslaughter for Pate’s death. English was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where she was placed under a $100,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and sheriff’s detectives have requested an autopsy.
