Turnout ‘huge’ for early voting throughout Brunswick County

More than 23,000 people had voted as of Tuesday afternoon at one-stop voting locations throughout Brunswick County. Another 1,749 people had mailed in absentee ballots, according to the Brunswick County Board of Elections.


“We’ve already had more one-stop voters than we had in 2004 total,” deputy elections director Sara Ashcraft said Tuesday. “Turnout is huge.”


By 6 p.m. Tuesday, 23,741 people had voted at the seven one-stop sites, and they were continuing to pour in as the day continued.
