Update: Deputies arrest Shallotte man considered armed and dangerous

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Shallotte man Tuesday morning who was considered armed and dangerous.

James Ali Pugh, 38, of Green Pine Drive was sought on burglary, kidnapping and assault on a female charges, as well as a domestic violence order violation. He was arrested without incident and is in custody at the Brunswick County Detention Facility.

Warrants show Pugh broke into and entered a house occupied by five people on Blue Jay Court in Shallotte about 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, and assaulted a woman. He broke in to the same home about 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, assaulted the same woman and tried to pull her from the residence.

Pugh was last seen in a red passenger car believed to be a Chevrolet Cobalt. Detectives warned community members not to approach him if they see him because he may be armed with a handgun.
