UPDATE: Sheriff’s detectives find missing woman at Leland home

UPDATE: Brunswick County Sheriff's detectives found Byrd unharmed at a Leland home Monday afternoon.

Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a woman who has been missing since Saturday, Oct. 30.

According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley, detectives are searching for Kimberly Denise Byrd, 24.

Byrd was last seen between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, leaving her home at 6275 Sawdust Lane in Winnbaow. She was headed toward N.C. 87.

Byrd is a white female. She is 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has dark tan skin, hazel eyes and dark brown shoulder-length hair.

She has a tattoo on her right ankle of a half moon, and a tattoo of a sun on her belly button.
