What to do to fish in the wind

-A A +A
By Capt. Jacob Frick

The waterway traffic did slow a bit this week after seeing a very busy weekend around the Easter holiday. The fishing also experienced some slower days but saw some really good signs of things to come. The weather and moon phase is most likely the main cause for the slow down this past week. The winds blew from the South and West pretty hard on most days, and with the moon dwindling to the last quarter it made for some weak tidal changes. It wasn’t until later in the week as the new moon approached that stronger currents developed, turning on the bite in a few spots.
