Winter weather closings, delays

Brunswick County Schools are closed Tuesday.

As of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Holden Beach bridge is closed due to icy conditions. Officials are awaiting NCDOT to re-salt and re-sand the bridge. The bridge reopened at 12:30 p.m.

Brunswick Community College will open at 11 a.m.

Brunswick County Schools and offices will be closed Monday in anticipation of wintry weather.

Brunswick County Governement Complex will be closed Monday due to winter weather.

Brunswick Transit System has reported to Emergency Services it will not provide transportation service on Monday due to the potential winter weather.

Brunswick Community College will be closed Monday.

Brunswick Family Assistance office, store and food pantry will be closed Monday.

Calabash Town Hall closed at 1 p.m. Monday due to current and expected road and weather conditions.

A United Methodist Women Tea previously scheduled for Monday at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach has been postponed until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11.

The ServSafe Class scheduled to start today at 12:30 p.m. at the NCSU Cooperative Extension, Brunswick County Center at the Government Complex in Bolivia is postponed. The first class will be Monday, Jan. 24 at 12:30 p.m. (No class next week due to MLK holiday).  There are still a few seats available in this food safety class for restaurant managers and workers, if anyone is interested.  For more information call 253-2610 when Government Complex offices reopen.
