Brunswick County Schools teachers and students arrive in Raleigh to start the March for Students at 10 a.m.
Teachers ‘Rally for Respect’ in Raleigh

RALEIGH — An estimated 26,000 teachers from across North Carolina, including Brunswick County, traveled to the state capital May 16 for the “March for Students and Rally for Respect” organized by the nonpartisan North Carolina Association of Educators.

Two charter buses with teachers from all over the county left from Shallotte and Leland on Wednesday morning in time for the planned 10 a.m. March for Students. Teachers then made their way into the legislative building at 10:45 a.m. before the General Assembly convened at noon.
